Trial 2 at Melkbosstrand delivered some of the toughest conditions of the season so far, with cold water, pouring rain, and strong winds testing competitors from the moment they arrived on the beach. Despite the harsh weather, the event showcased exactly what bodyboarding is all about — resilience, commitment, and passion for the sport.
The waves still delivered, and the riders responded with fearless performances throughout the day. From the opening heats through to the finals, the level of competition remained high as athletes pushed through the elements with determination and grit. Big commits, clean lines, and powerful manoeuvres were on display across every division.
A huge credit goes to every competitor who paddled out and represented the spirit of bodyboarding so well under extremely challenging conditions. Trial 2 served as a reminder that the sport is built on heart, perseverance, and the willingness to give everything, regardless of the forecast.
