With heavy hearts, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Wedge Classic 2026
After the massive storms that recently hit Plettenberg Bay, The Wedge has changed dramatically. Huge sand loss, exposed rocks, and limited beach access have made it impossible for us to safely run the event we had planned.
The Wedge Classic means a lot to our local surf and bodyboarding community, and rather than force an event that doesn’t live up to what it’s meant to be, we’ve decided to give the beach time to recover properly.
We’re incredibly grateful for all the support, excitement, sponsors, riders, and planning that has already gone into this year’s event.
We truly hope to bring The Wedge Classic back next year, even bigger, better, and with the wave we all know and love
