The Cape Town Bodyboarding Association (CTBA) is inviting young people from across the West Coast region to discover the excitement of bodyboarding through a free development clinic hosted by current World Bodyboarding Champion Tristan Roberts.

Taking place in July in the Melkbosstrand and Blouberg area, the clinic aims to introduce youth to the sport in a safe, fun and supportive environment while encouraging confidence, ocean awareness and healthy outdoor activity.
The development clinic is open to all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners who have never stepped onto a bodyboard before to those with some experience in the ocean. Participants simply need to be comfortable swimmers.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to experience the sport firsthand and learn from one of the world’s best bodyboarders,” says Margaux Randall of the Cape Town Bodyboarding Association. “Our development clinics are designed to make the sport accessible to everyone while providing a positive and enjoyable introduction to the ocean and wave-riding.”
As South Africa’s most successful bodyboarder and current World Champion, Tristan Roberts brings a wealth of experience and inspiration to the event. Participants will have the unique opportunity to learn basic skills, gain confidence in the water and interact with a world-class athlete.
The CTBA’s development programme is focused on growing the sport at the grassroots level and creating opportunities for young people to become involved in a healthy, active lifestyle connected to the ocean.
The exact date and location will be announced shortly, with updates available through the Cape Town Bodyboarding Association’s communication channels and WhatsApp group.
